COVID-19

COVID-19 (Coronavirus) INFORMATION
(UPDATED: MAY 21, 2020)

When will practices resume?

We will begin practices starting Tuesday May 26th. You will receive communication from your coach as well as the club.

WILL OUR PRACTICES BE AT THE SAME TIME AND PLACE?

We are still working out the details as to when practices will be held since we are only able to use 2 of our 3 courts. Your coach will be reaching out to you soon to discuss practice times and once we have all the information we will put together the best schedule we can.

WHAT SAFETY PRECAUTIONS WILL IN PLACE AT THE CLUB?

USAV in working with their affiliate USA Olympic Medical Team will be providing us detailed instructions on how to safely operate and we will be strictly adhering to those policies. Below are just a few of the items and we will provide more once we have the complete list.

  • If a player or coach feels sick, they do not attend practice.
  • In an effort to reduce the numbers of players in the gym, we will be blocking off the center court and using just 2 courts.
  • Parents will be asked not to attend practices.
  • Players will enter through the front door and exit through the side door and only 2 teams will be allowed in the gym at one time.
  • Upon arrival, all players and coaches will have their temperatures checked before entering the club.
  • Each player will be directed to wash their hands before practice.
  • Chairs for breaks and to leave their personal belongings will be placed 6 feet apart on the edge of the center court.
  • Courts and balls will be sanitized in-between each practice

Practice Safety Procedures

WHY DO WE STILL HAVE TO PAY OUR DUES?

The club operates on yearly budget and even though you may make 6, 7, or 8 payments, those payments are to cover the entire year to operate the club. The club has fixed expenses such as rent, insurance, utilities, etc that we must continue to pay even when we aren't holding practices. We are also looking to extend the season as well as offer camps and clinics to help offset missed practices.

Will I receive a refund?

The club does plan on refunding money to all eligible players as well as offering credits that can be used for upcoming camps and clinics through August of 2021. The refund will be based on any tournaments that we planned on attending but were unable to attend. For example, if the Florida Regional Qualifier does not take place, then the money we would have spent on entry fees would be refunded to that team; $900 divided by 9 eligible players would be a $100 refund to each eligible player. This is just one example, but there will be other expenses such as airfare and hotel that would also be refunded based on the location of the tournament. Since we still don't know the full extent of the cancellations, we can't calculate the refund at this time, but as soon as those final decisions are made we will issue a credit to your account and if you don't have a balance we will  issue you a check or credit for next year if that's what you prefer.

CAN'T THE CLUB APPLY FOR THE PPP LOAN FROM THE SBA TO OFFSET EXPENSES?

The club is not eligible for the PPP loan. It is based on 2.5 times our monthly payroll and since all of our coaches are 1099 contractors we are not eligible for the loan.

Which tournaments are still a possibility?

The following tournaments are still scheduled, but nothing is definite:

  • AAU Nationals - Rescheduled to July 14 - 22
