COVID-19 (Coronavirus) INFORMATION
(UPDATED: MARCH 31, 2020)

With the ongoing developments as a result of the Coronavirus, USA Volleyball & AAU have eliminated the sanctioning for all activities to include tournaments, practices, camps, clinics, and private lessons until April 30th for USAV and AAU. This is a very fluid situation that we are monitoring and discussing on a daily basis. We are committed to keeping our WPVC family informed, so this page will be updated frequently as we have new information. Below are a few questions and answers as we try to address some immediate concerns.

When will practices resume?

Currently all practices have been cancelled until further notice. Our club is sanctioned by both USAV and AAU and they are each giving different directives.

We are exploring all options for getting the players back in the gym and will update the site as more information becomes available.

Will I receive a refund?

With this being such a fluid situation we are monitoring updates and receiving information daily on tournament cancellations, tournament refunds and postponements.  We are doing our best to look at all options to make up tournaments and extending the season. WPVC leadership is taking every applicable measure to protect our members well-being, and to care for the ongoing financial needs of our coaches, staff, and vendors. With that being said, monthly payments are still due on scheduled dates, however due to this situation, we will look to credit member accounts for any refunds we receive or allocated funds that are not spent on their final payment. Just like the situation nationally, we won't have answers to specific financial questions until we see how everything plays out.

Which tournaments have been cancelled or postponed? (Updated 3/31/20)

Given the fluidity of the situation, the rescheduling of tournaments and extending of season cannot be finalized at this point. We have however successfully rescheduled teams into new Qualifiers and a link to the updated scheduled will be available soon.

Current list of cancellations or postponements:

  • Colorado Crossroads -  Cancelled
  • Lone Star Classic - Postponed
  • Show Me Qualifier - Postponed
  • Windy City - Cancelled

New or rescheduled tournaments (assuming COVID-19 passes):

  • Show Me Qualifier
  • Big South Qualifier

WPVC Precautions & Preventative Measures

We have taken many precautions at our facility to make sure that we are constantly sanitizing all of our equipment, training environment, restrooms, and concession areas. ALL volleyballs will be wiped down with disinfecting wipes per instructions by Molton Volleyball after each practice. Once we re-open the facility, we do ask everyone to adhere to the following guidelines:

  • We ask all players, coaches, and parents to wash hands for 20 seconds before and after practice.
  • No sharing water bottles, towels, giving high fives, and/or physical contact.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, mouth, and face.
  • If you have any symptoms or do not feel well, DO NOT COME TO PRACTICE!

March 19, 2020 Update - 3:30 p.m. Mountain

USA Volleyball is announcing the elimination of sanctions for all USA Volleyball activities (including but not limited to events, practices, team activities, individual training sessions or anything covered by USA Volleyball insurance) through April 15, 2020. USA Volleyball is monitoring the situation daily and will continue to provide updates on a regular basis.

USA Volleyball has been asked by local clubs whether such ban applies to club activities covered under the club’s own (non-USA Volleyball) insurance. In these situations, USA Volleyball strongly encourages all member clubs and coaches to adhere to USA Volleyball’s policies. However, should a club decide to voluntarily disregard those policies and assume all risks associated therewith, we recommend that the club adhere to CDC; local, state and federal guidelines and recommendations when deciding whether or not to host practices or individual training sessions. If a club does host practice or individual training sessions, those activities would be considered a non-sanctioned activity by USA Volleyball and thus NOT covered by USA Volleyball insurance.

The health and welfare of our membership, volleyball families and fellow citizens is our primary concern in all decisions we are making during these uncharted times.
